Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between your business ("you") and Cheddify Inc. ("we", "us"), which operates Romy. By using Romy you agree to them. If you use Romy for a company, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.

The service

Romy answers phone calls for your business with an AI assistant, takes messages, and lets you watch calls live, type lines for Romy to say, or join calls yourself, using the Romy iPhone app. Calls reach Romy when you forward your business line to the Romy number we give you, or when callers dial a Romy number directly.

Not for emergencies

Romy is not an emergency service. It does not contact 911 or emergency responders. Do not rely on Romy for calls where someone's safety depends on a quick answer.

AI can make mistakes

Romy may mishear, misunderstand, or say something inaccurate. Check important details before acting on them. You are responsible for the instructions and notes you give Romy and for what you type for Romy to say.

Your responsibilities

• Recording and consent laws: calls are recorded and transcribed. Some places require telling callers or getting their consent. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your calls.
• Acceptable use: do not use Romy to harass, threaten, deceive or defraud anyone, to impersonate someone else, to make unsolicited or automated calls, or for anything illegal. Lines you type for Romy to say are your words.
• Your account: keep access to your email secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Plans, trial and payment

• Solo and Business plans start with a 5-day free trial. After the trial, your plan renews monthly until you cancel.
• Each plan includes a monthly allowance of call minutes. We do not cut off calls in a busy month. If you regularly go over, we may ask you to move to a plan that fits.
• A separate Romy business number, when you ask for one, is an extra $25 a month.
• You can cancel any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires.
• Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice by email.

Phone numbers

Romy numbers are provided by us through our phone carrier. If you forward your own business line, it stays yours, and you can turn forwarding off any time from your phone. If your account closes, we may release the Romy number.

Your data

You own your call data. You let us use it to provide and improve the service as described in our privacy policy.

Availability

We work to keep Romy running at all times, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. If our servers are unreachable, callers can leave a voicemail.

Disclaimers

Romy is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for missed calls, lost business, or indirect damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we will update the date above and email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Romy after that means you accept the new terms.
